Always imitated, never equalled
The famous « Café de Paris » Butter.

Café de Paris Butter was invented by Mr. Boubier in 1930. It enabled the « Café de Paris » in Geneva to launch an astonishing concept, namely a restaurant which offers a single dish an entrecote steak covered in an exquisite and subtle butter accompanied with home made fries and salads.

This formula gained a worldwide success.
The ingredients of this amazing sauce are still a secret till today, even though many around the world have misguided the public by trying to imitate and market the sauce.
It has never equalled our standards or taste.

More than 80 years later, the fame of the establishment is still intact and the concept remains unchanged.

Paul Erdman, the famous American writer, says in his best seller The Last Days of America, ...

..."We went to the Café de Paris that has the best entrecote sauce of any eating place on earth."

The jealously guarded secret of the ingredients of which the butter is composed guarantees its unique and inimitable character.

Mr François Vouillamoz, the current owner of the « Café de Paris » in Geneva is the holder of the secret of the butter or rather « his » butter, for the designation « Café de Paris Butter » has become commonplace but never corresponds to our original butter which could not be copied.
